Outlook: Exporting with Design Studio 1.6
Will my exports look great with SAP Design Studio 1.6?
Our blog post SAP vs. openbi Export gives you a good overview of the standard export possibilities of SAP Design Studio 1.5. There we have already shown the problems of the standard export feature: Lack of quality, flexibility and customizability that a lot of business users request for their daily work.
SAP will include a lot of nice new features into version 1.6 of DesignStudio - also some new export features?
The answer is: NO!
Unfortunately all export features will remain unchanged!
So does this mean your users have to stick with the export as it is?
Our answer is: NO!
Our Export Addon for SAP Design Studio has been a high-quality, flexible and highly customizable toolset already for SAP Design Studio 1.5!
biExport on the other hand, now brings even more features and flexibility!
And this even before version 1.6 is out! Features include:
- Flexible and completely customizable include of meta information such as query name, system, data actuality, variables and filters
- Language setting and user dependent number formatting
- Enhancements to script functions: Set and get all parameters of the export. Get a list of all data sources, components or data bound components for even more flexibility in application design! Get the number of cells, rows and columns in any result set.
- Light-weight but fully formatted export of data to CSV or clipboard
