Let's assume you have successfully created your data visualization or infographic in Lumira Discovery, like in the following example:
Now you would like to integrate it into a Word document you are writing.
Lumira Discovery is actually desgined to present data in place using so called "storyboards". There is also an option to export the storyboard to PDF. This feature, however, produces a very simple PDF document without headers, footers and only a screenshot of the content.
Our biExport addon, on the other side, offers you an implressive one-click export to Word.
See a working example in the following video, before we describe the Word export feature in detail:
Now, how can you access this feature?
Simply register on www.lumira-export.com and download the Export extension for Lumira Discovery. Install the extension via the menu entry "Extensions" in Lumira Discvoery and follow the instructions on the screen.
After successful installation, the extension will become visible under Extensions in the Insert Charts dialogue.
When you choose the biExport 4 SAP Lumira Discovery extension, a PowerPoint icon is rendered on the screen by default. This is because the extension supports export not only to Word documents, but also to PowerPoint, PDF and Excel formats.
You do not have to map any dimensions or keyfigures to the extension. But you have to switch the Export Format to Word on the Design pane under Visualization Protperties:
You can define your own Export Template in your Corporate Design and use it for the export. Simply create a Word document with title page, table of contents, headers, footers and chapters. Then include a merge field with /n%CONTENT/n%;:SCALESIZE in it. This merge field will be replaced with the content of the storyboard.
Of course, also more sophisticated exports are possible!
Note that you can also change the Export Configuration, e.g. the appearance of the Export function: Large Icon, Small Icon or Link:
